When time started ticking away from the 30 seconds that Drake University freshman Alex Tillinghast was allotted to make a layup, a free throw, a three-pointer, and a half-court shot for the chance to win a new truck, it looked like he had no chance in the world.
Resembling Napoleon Dynamite, Tillinghast doesn’t look like he’s spent much time on the court in his days. However, luck was on his side during the university’s Bulldog Madness preseason kickoff event, and, well, he brought the entire house down.
There’s no way the rebound man’s contributions can be understated here, either. That in-bound pass from the baseline with four seconds on the clock was absolutely crucial to Alex getting his half-court shot off in time. Hopefully, whichever member of the Bulldogs’ basketball program this was will take the first ride in Tillinghast’s new Ford F-150 with him.
My guess is he’ll just be the first of many, though, as there’s no way Tillinghast doesn’t park this thing on campus every day that his celebrity status allows.
